Constant Dental Care - Emergency Dentistry

Constant Dental Care

We are always here for you and your family.

Even for people who are meticulous about their oral hygiene habits, dental emergencies can happen to anyone, often at the most unexpected times. When your mouth is injured, it can not only be inconvenient and uncomfortable but also embarrassing. Fortunately, if you are inflicted with a sudden dental emergency that leaves you in pain or has significantly affected the function or appearance of your mouth, Dr. Constant, Dr. Jacob, and their trusted teams at Constant Dental Care can help. Here is what you should know before visiting us for emergency dental care.

What is Considered a Dental Emergency?

A dental emergency occurs when a patient experiences severe pain or damage in their teeth, gums, or the soft tissues of their mouth that cannot be treated at home or be postponed until their next dental appointment.

What Should I Do if I Have a Dental Emergency?

If you have a dental emergency, the first thing you should do is call our office. Then a team member can help determine how urgent the situation is, learn what caused the emergency, and can advise you on what the appropriate next steps will be, such as coming into the office right away or how to manage the problem at home until you can be seen by our emergency dentists.

When Should You See an Emergency Dentist?

You should seek the assistance of an emergency dentist any time you experience trauma to your mouth that results in significant pain, the inability to properly use your mouth, or severe cosmetic damage. In some circumstances, you may need a referral to a specialist, however, it is best to come in for an examination just in case.

How Can I Manage the Pain?

If you are experiencing pain due to a dental emergency, over-the-counter pain relievers should help. During your urgent dental care appointment, we can also provide topical anesthetics for temporary pain relief.

Do You Take Walk-In Patients?

We are happy to take walk-in patients for dental emergencies, however, it’s best to call our office before coming in. This way, we can prepare for your visit and let you know what you can expect your wait to be since we will have to work around other scheduled patients.

Common Dental Emergencies

The most common emergency dental care treatments at Constant Dental include:

  • Cracked, chipped, or broken teeth
  • Infected or abscessed teeth
  • Missing crown
  • Missing filling
  • Broken denture

Do You Have Same-Day Emergency Appointments?

While we cannot guarantee that same-day appointments will always be available, in most circumstances we can usually see emergency dental patients the same day. The extent of the treatment that we can provide during a same-day appointment will depend on the extent of the dental problem, as well as the amount of time we have available. If you are seen for a same-day emergency dental care, we can diagnose the problem, create a personalized treatment plan based on your needs, and provide temporary pain relief until your next appointment.

Do You Have Emergency Hours Not Listed on Your Website?

Our emergency hours are the same as our regular day-time hours. If you have a dental emergency outside our normal business hours, an answering service can take your call and contact Dr. Constant or Dr. Jacob if your situation is urgent.

How to Avoid Dental Emergencies

The best way to prevent dental emergencies from occurring is by visiting Constant Dental Care every six months for your routine dental exams and cleanings. By doing so, Dr. Constant and Dr. Jacob can identify and address any potential dental concerns before they progress to more serious issues. He can also provide guidance on how best to care for your mouth.

Most dental emergencies require immediate care. If you are suffering from the pain or embarrassment of a dental emergency, contact Constant Dental Care right away. We can help you regain the comfort and beauty of your smile!
